All measurements are converted to a common unit.

1. Total surface area

Area = length × width

All rectangular surface areas are added together.

2. Approximate tile module

(tile length + grout) × (tile width + grout)

The grout gap approximates repeating tile spacing.

3. Quantity and packaging

Tiles = round up(area ÷ module area)
Add waste, then round up to full boxes.

10–15%: many standard installations.
15% or more: complex patterns and extra cuts.

How do I calculate the number of tiles needed?

Calculate the surface area, divide it by the approximate coverage of one tile, add waste, and round up to the number of full boxes.

Can I calculate multiple rooms?

Yes. Add a separate surface for each rectangular room or section. The calculator adds their areas before estimating tile quantities.

Can I calculate irregular rooms?

Divide an irregular room into rectangles and enter each section. Subtract areas that will not be tiled before entering the measurements. Complex patterns may require extra material.

Why should I check the package coverage?
