Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the area of a wall?
Multiply the wall's width by its height. If the wall is 5 metres wide and 2.5 metres high, its gross area is 12.5 m².
Should I subtract doors and windows before painting?
Subtracting openings gives a more useful estimate of the wall surface to cover. Small reveals, frames, and other details may need separate measurement.
Can I calculate several walls together?
Yes. Enter each wall in a separate row. The calculator sums their gross areas and deducts the specified door and window areas from the total.
How accurate is the paint estimate?
It is an estimate based on the entered coverage rate and number of coats. Actual usage depends on surface condition, paint type, application method, and preparation.
