How the lawn area is calculated

For each rectangular section, the area is:

Section area = length × width

For a lawn made up of multiple sections, the areas are added together:

Total lawn area = section 1 area + section 2 area + ...

If an extra allowance is selected:

Adjusted area = total lawn area × (1 + allowance percentage ÷ 100)

Divide an irregular lawn into non-overlapping rectangles where practical. Do not count the same patch of grass twice. For curved boundaries or complicated plots, measure smaller sections or use a suitable land-area calculator.
