Paint calculator example
A 5 m by 4 m room with walls 2.7 m high has a gross wall area of 48.6 m². One 0.9 m by 2 m door and two 1.2 m by 1 m windows total 4.2 m². The net paintable area is 44.4 m².
At 10 m² per litre, two coats require 8.88 litres before allowance. Adding 10% gives approximately 9.77 litres.
Tips for accurate estimates
- Measure irregular walls individually.
- Use the coverage rate shown on the paint container.
- Rough and porous walls may need more paint.
- Ceilings, trim, and primer are not included in this wall estimate.
